Polar is an AI browser, and the homepage makes a claim I rarely see stated this directly: it actually does work for you. Not summarizes pages for you. Does the work. With just words, it says, you can automate tasks ranging from quick lookups to hours-long jobs across research, recruiting, sales, and running a business.

The pedigree line caught my eye: the team comes from MIT, YC, Perplexity, and Modal. That is a serious crew for a browser product, and it shows in the scope of what they are attempting. Polar operates inside your existing accounts and sessions, which is the difference between an agent that can actually book the meeting and one that can only read about meetings. It runs autonomous work for stretches, lets you watch what it is doing, and allows you to grab the wheel at any point.

The template gallery hints at their go-to use cases, and the community link suggests an active early user base. There is a native macOS download rather than a Chrome extension, which tells me they built the browser shell themselves instead of bolting AI onto Chromium extensions.

Who is this for? Recruiters sourcing candidates, sales people researching accounts, operators doing repeat web chores.
