Paste a GitHub repo and get a practical growth plan for your open-source project
GrowsKey has a simple hook that I have not seen done well before: paste any public GitHub repository URL, and it generates a growth plan covering launch readiness, community building, content strategy, and project operations. No signup required. Free analysis.
The positioning is sharp. Open-source maintainers are usually excellent engineers and terrible marketers. They build something useful, push it to GitHub, and then wait for stars that never come. GrowsKey attacks that exact gap. You built the thing; it tells you how to get people to care about it.
What I want to know but could not verify from the homepage: how specific is the output? A generic "post on Twitter and write a blog" plan is useless. A plan that says "your README is missing a quickstart section, your issue templates do not guide first-time contributors, and here are three communities where people discuss problems your project solves" would be genuinely valuable. The cheerful, practical language in their pitch suggests they aim for the latter.
The free tier with no signup is a smart acquisition move. Open-source maintainers are allergic to SaaS funnels. Let them paste a URL, get value immediately, and the ones who want deeper help can book a call. The "talk to a growth expert" CTA hints at a services or consulting upsell behind the free tool.
