SkillMap is a control plane for AI coding skills (the prompt-and-instruction bundles that tools like Claude, Cursor, and others use). The problem it addresses is drift: you find a useful skill, copy it into one IDE, then a week later realize every other IDE you use is out of sync, and you cannot remember where the original came from.

What it does

Search for skills from one interface instead of hunting repos.
Install a skill once and have it pushed to every IDE you use.
Track versions, so you can see when a skill was updated and roll back if needed.
Update centrally, so changes propagate without manual file copying.

How the flow works

Describe the task, pick the skill that fits, install it once. Every IDE stays in sync after that. The point is to treat skills as managed artifacts rather than loose files.
